3) Medical Concerns
Yellow Fever inoculation is compulsory for many countries. You will need the Y.F. certificate when you return home from an infected area.
No other vaccinations are compulsory, however, we recommend that you
consult your doctor 4 weeks before travelling as he/she may suggest inoculations against Typhoid, Tetanus or Hepatitis, at the time of your safari. Anti-malaria tablets should be taken for safaris north of S.Africa, ie. Zambia (Victoria Falls) Botswana and Tanzania. The Kruger Park, Zululand and northern Namibia are also malaria areas.
4) Weather or Seasons
The best time for a safari in Southern Africa is undoubtedly from mid-March to
mid-November. The rainy season in the Cape area will be July, August & September.
The rainy season in the north, ie. Kruger Park, Botswana, Namibia, Victoria Falls
& Mozambique is from end-October until mid-March.
The heavy rains in Tanzania normally fall from mid-March to end-May.
